Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.

Job Responsibilities

Recruitment staff actively seek out prospective foster and adoptive families who have the ability to care for children.
Serve as lead worker or backup supervisor to a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists.
Serve as team leader in case staff meetings, provide on-going case consultation and advise and train lower-level Child Welfare Specialists in case management and interpretation of policies and procedures.
Carry complex and difficult caseloads or are assigned responsibilities involving case consultation.
Conduct community engagement to find foster and adoptive families.
Meet with prospective foster and adoptive families to establish communication.
Oversee the approval process for prospective foster families. Approve families according to established standards for the type of care provided.
Provide analysis and report on the number of new foster families.
