Child Care Licensing Specialist III - H24C
Annual Salary: $45,705.38/per year + Full State Employee Benefits
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, PLUS a year of child care licensing experience;
- OR a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, plus two years of child care licensing experience, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of 12 months of Child Care Licensing experience;
- OR a Bachelor's degree in any field, plus three years of experience in child care licensing, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of two years of Child Care Licensing experience.
Basic Purpose
This is the specialist level where employees are designated as lead workers or backup supervisors to level I and Level II employees. Responsibilities include assigning caseloads, providing training in caseload principles and practices, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and agency policies, procedures, and practices. Employees at this level will provide casework services at all levels of difficulty and complexity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages a caseload in surrounding counties that includes on-site monitoring and assessment of child care programs to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
- Receives and investigates complaints, including violations of licensing requirements, as well as child abuse and neglect of children in both licensed and unlicensed facilities.
- Providing ongoing technical assistance and consultation to programs.
- Develops, provides, and arranges training or services to child care programs to assist them in meeting licensing requirements.
- Represents the agency in the community, including public speaking or participation on committees, task forces, or advisory boards.
- Designated as a lead worker or backup to the supervisor.
