Hours worked may include hours outside of a normal business schedule.
Travel is extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- a master’s degree and one year of professional supervisory, managerial, consultative or administrative experience in public health administration, social work, child support, adult protective services, child welfare, early childhood development and education, guidance and counseling, nursing, developmental disabilities, probation and parole, employment services, public administration, community-based prevention and diversionary youth services programs, juvenile justice, rehabilitation or disability services or counseling, or vocational evaluation or vocational rehabilitation, experience in instructing/directing a community service or recreational program.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, only substituting one year of professional-level experience in the above-listed areas for each year of the required education.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages Vocational and Adult Day Services unit of Area II.
- This is a leadership position supervising 1 Administrative Programs Officer I within Developmental Disabilities Service Division serving state-wide provider contracts, and state-funded vocational and group home claims.
- Develops and recommends policies, rules and regulations which pertain to the administration of assigned programs consistent with federal and state laws.
- Reviews DDS 55 forms for completion and accuracy, and reviews vocational data in the electronic client record.
- Liaison w/State Office in the development of Vocational Programs for Consumers.
- Trains Area Staff in programs & policy; reviews staff reports, and audits.
- Provides training and consultation to community providers and ensures contract compliance.
- Ability to work on a diverse team and directly with people from diverse backgrounds specifically racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and disabilities.
