Child Care Licensing Specialist III - H24C
Annual Salary: $47,999.66/per year + Full State Employee Benefits
Minimum Qualifications
- A Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, PLUS a year of child care licensing experience;
- OR a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, plus two years of child care licensing experience, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of 12 months of Child Care Licensing experience;
- OR a Bachelor's degree in any field, plus three years of experience in child care licensing, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of two years of Child Care Licensing experience.
Basic Purpose
This position is responsible for overseeing and supporting participants and programs within the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), ensuring that each program aligns with QRIS objectives and maintains the appropriate rating within the child care sector. As a specialist-level role, individuals in this position act as lead workers. Key duties include providing training on effective caseload management and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as agency policies, procedures, and practices. Employees in this role manage casework services of varying complexity and difficulty, with the overarching goal of developing a system that promotes the quality, safety, and accessibility of child care while encouraging ongoing improvement in early childhood care and education.
