Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and three years of professional supervisory, managerial, consultative, or administrative experience in public health administration, social work, child support, adult protective services, child welfare, guidance and counseling, nursing, developmental disabilities, probation and parole, employment services, public administration, community-based prevention, and diversionary youth services programs, juvenile justice, rehabilitation or disability services or counseling, or vocational evaluation or vocational rehabilitation, experience in instructing/directing a community service or recreational program.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of professional-level experience in the above-listed areas for each year of the required education
*No substitution will be allowed for the required professional supervisory, managerial, consultative, or administrative experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directs and supervises the DDS training unit by ensuring classes are available statewide in compliance with DDS policy, trainers are appropriately certified, policy is revised as needed, and curricula, including online courses, are updated as needed to reflect changing needs and best practices.
- Acts as the statewide administrator for the online training system College of Direct Supports.
- Allocates staffing resources to assure necessary program development and oversight.
- Manages and monitors the DDS training contracts with various entities, renews contracts within time frames established by OKDHS, and keeps overall costs within the established budget.
- Annually determines and prioritizes SATTRN projects for DDS for the upcoming fiscal year.
- Tracks project expenditures and makes project decisions and changes as necessary to ensure successful completion of projects within established line-item budgets.
- Identifies opportunities for innovation in training, including reviewing and adopting best practices.
- Searches for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity among staff which includes researching new trainings and materials that can enhance DDS training procedures while providing value to DDS employees and providers.
- Identifies future training needs and creates a curriculum to facilitate those trainings.
- Participates on assigned committees. Ensures coordination with other divisions and agencies to facilitate effective use of resources and programs.
- Must be a strong writer and have the ability to write, revise, and review course content.
