Child Welfare Specialist II/III - OKSA Transition Facilitator - OKDHS ONLY
This position is for current OKDHS employees only.
This position may be located anywhere statewide in Oklahoma
- Level II H23B - $40,077.79 + Full State Employee Benefits
- Level III H23C - $43,968.62 + Full State Employee Benefits
On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.
Travel is Occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
Child Welfare Specialist, Level II
- A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify;
- OR One year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level III
- A Master's degree;
- OR a Bachelors Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist;
- OR Two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
Serves in the Transition unit within OK Successful Adulthood (OKSA) to support youth transitioning from foster care to adulthood by developing and monitoring 90-day transition plans and coordinating services that promote self-sufficiency and long-term success.
- Provide guidance to Permanency Planning Workers and youth regarding eligibility and requests for OKSA-funded services, including driver's education, driver's licenses, vehicle matching funds, housing resources, and educational assistance.
- Facilitate virtual team meetings involving youth, foster parents, caseworkers, CASA representatives, service providers, and community partners to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Conduct bi-monthly transition planning meetings to assess progress, identify barriers, and prepare youth for successful adulthood.
- Assist youth in obtaining critical personal documentation, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, and state-issued identification.
- Collaborate with caseworkers and service providers to identify youth who may qualify for Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS), Social Security benefits, and other supportive programs.
- Advocate for youth by connecting them with resources that promote housing stability, educational achievement, employment readiness, and lifelong support networks.
