Travel is extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and must maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, PLUS 3 years of child care licensing experience;
OR a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or social work, PLUS 4 years of child care licensing experience, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Child Care Licensing;
OR a Bachelor's degree in any field, plus 5 years of experience in child care licensing, early childhood education, or social work, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in Child Care Licensing.
Preference Statement
Preference may be given to applicants who have experience in early childhood and/or child development background.
Bilingual with written and conversational skills in Spanish.
Job Responsibilities
Provide direct staff supervision of six licensing staff; hold individual conferences with staff, review case records and correspondence to verify compliance with agency policies and procedures.
Give final approval for permit and license issuance or make a recommendation to the State Office on license denial or revocation.
This position must interview and hire child care licensing specialists and maintain personnel records. Will attend all meetings, required training and workshops.
