Child Welfare Specialist IV - H23D
Annual Salary: $52,217.89 + Full State Employee Benefits
Applicants who possess a Master's Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.
On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.
Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs.
- OR a Bachelors Degree plus two years experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
- OR Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete Quinten Wood consultations for CPS Child Welfare Specialists who have a child-in-custody with a perceived or diagnosed developmental disability. This includes, but is not limited to, reviewing allegations in referrals along with referral history and reviewing information given by CW Specialists.
- Checking for Social Security and Developmental Disabilities applications, reviewing school and other pertinent records.
- Conducts consults with CW Specialist and/or family, whether virtual or face-to-face.
- Coordinate and obtain referrals and resources to meet the families' needs related to the developmental disabilities of the child. Researching appropriate resources and referrals, and completing those. Assisting family and coordinating services when needed.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to develop resources for children and families.
- Attend coalitions, Partner with agencies that serve children and families with disabilities, connect with community mental health agencies, and create a professional working relationship with professionals in the education and specialized services, such as Occupational therapists, Autism Behavioral therapist, family training, psychologists, and others, to enable the ability to refer families to appropriate agencies and services.
- Provide liaison duties to Developmental Disabilities Services and Child Welfare staff in family meetings and to share specialized knowledge of disabilities and system navigation.
